Famous Last Words 13 & 14 – Be careful what you wish for
Ran the same donk over twice. He was definately overplaying his cards, going all in pre flop with anything that had paint on it, so it was mostly a matter of patience.
He opened up good, though, gaining a big lead within a few hands, so I nearly had to respect him. Then I slowly began to outplay his ass, without really doing much but slowplay the good hands and suck out with the bad. That got him going, moaning about how I always got saved on the River. Well, dude, that’s why there are five cards on the board, so you can play them all…
Anyways, I knew that would get him all wired up, so when I found [AKo] and he openraised all in, it was an easy call. And unlike when I’m in a cash game, my hand held up:
Another [AKo] in the next hand finished him off good.
Thanks to the good folks at PokerStars, you get to challenge your opponent to a rematch. This is probably my favorite feature. And of course – with a battered ego, he gladly accepted
The game opened up about the same way as the first. This time I had his number though, and it seemed he was ready to play in the same gear as before, so I didn’t have to adjust.
Not like the other night, when I played one opponent four times in a row. We both ended up losing two dollar, so that was very EV-, but at least a lot of fun, because we both had to adapt and make new strategies.
Okay – after verbal exchanges with lots of mutual respect for each others game, and a lewd reference to my mother, things were definately about to come to a head.
