That is solid advice you can take to the bank, folks! And as a side note, I’d like to add: Don’t play more tables than you can handle.

PokerStars has matched over $600,000 of online donations to Haiti. I like this method of contributing.
Me too!
This was a huge revelation for me because I didn’t know you can own someone else by losing. And that’s when I started folding more. In fact, it makes folding enjoyable because I know I owned my opponents since he has a strong hand and I can sense the frustration that they are feeling.

I need a break from poker. I’ve been on a terrible losing streak. I broke my own rule. I’ve always said if you lose four or five times in a row, you should always take a break. But, the games look good and I couldn’t stop, and I’ve paid the price by losing seven out of the last eight plays. I won’t get close to another poker table until 2010.

All things considered, I think I may just do the same. And then hit the books instead.
Small Stakes No Limit Hold’em finally came out in a version that works on my HTC Hero (I prefer reading it on a small screen instead of on my laptop), and I still have a few pages of Collin Moshman to devour.
Not to mention all the other stuff, that needs attention. And not just the pokery stuff – there is life stuff too, out there.
I also want to take a long think about my poker goals for 2010.

I have never in my life studied hand histories. I have never studied books, or watched videos. I always have just played poker and played with every player who wanted to play me. To be honest, I never even studied my own hand histories.

Emil Patel, AKA “Whitelime” went back to school after the “2 Months, 2 Million” show was over. He had to buy some books for the semester, so he went to the book store, waited forever to get to the teller, then went on to have a few too many drinks with some of his fellow students.
Coming home in a lifted spirit, he finds out he got the wrong book. So he decides to buy the real one on Amazon, but first:
To recoup the $100 the book cost, I decided to steal a blind at a high stakes table. I raise button, get reraised, decide to 4 bet and he shoves. Bam, down $3k already. End up dropping 7 more as I’m in absolutely no shape to play good poker.

A: I don’t know. And I don’t care.

I’ve always liked Phil Helmuth and have defended his tantrums because that is Phil being Phil, but these grand entrances he makes are too much! He came to my table dressed as Julius Caesar along with trumpets and scantily clad girls. It embarrassed me just being there. I would have liked to applied for the role of Brutus. I am a poker purist and stuff like that detracts too much from what a great game poker is.
